Biographical Info The original plays of Ron Dans and Laia Obregon as Puppet's Revenge are inspired by the old puppet and folkloric theater traditions of Europe as well as the history and folklore of the Southwest. They combine multiple puppet techniques and perform in theater festivals in the Americas and Europe, as well as in African villages. Laia was a theater professor for 25 years at the University of Barcelona.
Program Description Lady Blue was a XVII century mystic, visionary nun who bi-located from Agreda, Spain to New Mexico and the Southwest without leaving her cloistered convent. She appeared to the Natives and communicated without words. Both were fascinated by the other. A prolific writer, geographer, and advisor of King Phillip IV, she was twice confronted by the Inquisition. Her myth connects to the Virgin of Guadalupe, Teresa de Avila and Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz. Historians and scholars continue studying Lady Blue for her role in the building of Spanish New Mexico.
