Biographical Info Dulcimer Dan's early education consisted of home schooling and correspondence classes. Then he earned a BFA from the University of New Mexico. After a year of making musical instruments under the tutelage of Professor Charles Maddox, he worked with students and faculty recording experimental music. He won national recognition and continued his education at the University of California.
Program Description The movement west from the beginning brought music along with it, but instruments were not always available to accompany the songs. Dulcimer Dan displays and discusses a wide range of traditional, hand-crafted instruments and performs music of the westward movement.
