In-Kind Contribution

NMHC Speakers Bureau programs are made possible by Federal funds which require a 1:1 in-kind match.  An in-kind contribution is a good or service provided by the organization booking the program.

We require applicant organizations match NMHC's average cost for a Speakers Bureau program. The average cost of a Speakers Bureau program is $350. Applicants may estimate their in-kind costs in the fields below to show a minimum match of $350.

Once this form is submitted and approved, you will receive the payment request form. The payment request form is used to calculate the total grant amount applicants will receive from NMHC. NMHC covers a $250 honorarium, mileage, lodging, and meals for Speakers.

NOTE: All fields in this section are required. Enter 0 (zero) for categories that you are not claiming an in-kind amount.

Enter the total number of volunteer hours you anticipate will be applied to this program.  Volunteer time might include speaker and room arrangements, advertising/publicity distribution, social media posts, audience assistance, and follow up paperwork for NMHC.

"Wages" refers to paid staff time spent on planning and executing the event.

Estimate the value of services and materials contributed by the organization. Examples include paper and ink for flyers and services performed by individuals not associated with your organization (ex: a sound technician, a filmographer, etc.)

Many facilities have an estimated rental cost for their facility, even if the organization offers it for free. Typical Cost of Facilities is $150.

This is the catchall category where you can add items that don’t fit easily into other categories.

Is your in-kind total a minimum of $350?
