Trevor Carter, History Day Trevor manages the National History Day statewide competition for mid- and high-school students and teachers.
..."I became the coordinator for National History Day because I believe that the History Day curriculum is a great inter-disciplinary curriculum choice in which teachers can help their students get excited about history. History Day is a great idea for students that learn faster and need to have curriculum that allows them to analyze and synthesize information and delve into a subject. The contest categories allow for many types of students (i.e. techno types, budding thespians) to display their knowledge, and they are FUN."
Trevor has a MA in Education from UNM and is retired from teaching full time for the Albuquerque Public Schools, where she taught elementary and mid-school gifted programs. In her non-working hours she likes to hike with her dogs, Jazzercise, read, and spend lots of time outdoors!
